About us Hello my name is Margaret Metcalfe
I learnt to crochet at the age of 12. Since then I have developed a passion for crochet. I went to Technical College to learn how to teach. I have been teaching crochet for 15 years. Over the years new crochet patterns have become very difficult to obtain so I started writing my own.
These patterns proved very popular with my students and requests for more patterns followed. With my students encouragement I submitted eleven patterns to the Australian Womens Weekly for consideration to publish, they published nine. I also started my own business, Margaret's Crochet Designs
Since then I have had a number of patterns published in various magazines, but have always wanted to put my patterns together in book form. I was given the opportunity to do so and this led to the publishing of my first book, Crochet Edges.
After the release of this book I received may enquiries from all over Australia from people who wanted more of my patterns, so I put together my first booklet, "Six Exciting Crocheted Coathanger Covers". My intention was to make these booklets a high quality addition to your crochet pattern collection, to enable them to last through the years and be handed down through generations of crocheters. My latest booklet is entitled Towel Tops and Teatowels.
With encouragement from friends and family, I decided to try my hand at e-commerce and make my patterns available to the world. As this exciting venture takes shape, I will be regularly offering free patterns to download as well as offering for sale my current and future publications.
I hope you enjoy your visit to my site, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret |
